The original 3 tone sunburst finish has now been over sprayed with a SURF green top coat, then lacquered, after which, many hours have been spent meticulously hand-sanding to accurately create authentic aging and wear and tear in all the right places.
This striking body finish is complimented with a white 3 ply scratchplate again, with highly affective subtle aging focused around the controls and pickup covers, a process that’s also featured within the hard rock maple neck and headstock, whilst the smooth rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, lets you reach extra high notes not often associated with this guitar design.
A balanced set of Wilkinson WVS vintage-voiced Alnico V pickups, with staggered, chamfered edge pole pieces, deliver flagship single coil tones with contemporary power, while the centre unit is reverse wound with reverse polarity for hum cancelling duties in switch position 2 and 4.
Time-tested hardware that’s also been through the subtle distressing process, includes Wilkinson WJ55 patented E-Z-Lok machine heads and a Wilkinson WVC vibrato bridge which is a masterpiece of detail in itself.
The amiss of the vibrato back plate reveals the classic 3 spring vibrato set up, assuring spring and string tension are equal, whilst the precision cut GraphTech nut also ensures perfect return to pitch, from the shaking of chords or solo notes with a gentle tease or aggressive vibrato attack.
