Known around the world for their extreme expertise within skilful instrument lutherie, the Vintage® ProShop™ team were delighted when asked to create a custom one-off Vintage V59 G4V electric guitar.
Based on the solid-bodied single cutaway V59 from the very popular Vintage ICON
™ Series, this unique and very special electric guitar has been specifically designed to honour the Guitar For Veterans Charity, a non-profitable organisation which, with the healing power of music and community, offers relief to struggling veterans who face the challenges of PTSD.
Already a classic in itself, the Vintage V59 with cream body bindings has received an additional aging process applied by the Vintage ProShop team, the only way they know how.
The original high gloss finish has been meticulously taken back by hand, revealing the Eastern poplar body in all the right places to portray a guitar that lost its original high gloss glow decades ago, having spent most of its life working hard on the live circuit, whilst having been cared for impeccably along the way.
All hardware, including Wilkinson Deluxe WJ55S machine heads, control panel and controls, along with the world famous Wilkinson WTB compensating bridge, have also been authentically aged to blend into the pre-worn picture.
Finally, as a tribute to this incredibly worthwhile charity which is totally run by volunteers, the Vintage V59 G4V body, features a hand-worked G4V emblem on the top bout along with a miniature detailed version on the neck plate and head stock.
With a hard rock maple neck, shaped with a classic Vintage ‘soft C’ profile and 22 fret maple fingerboard, this guitar is a delight to perform with and, like all Vintage guitars fitted with Wilkinson single coil pickups, the V59 G4V effortlessly delivers a foundation of solid lows, a defined mid-range and a crystal clear, high-end sparkle that’s perfect for country, blues, pop and rock.

Double bound Eastern poplar body provides resonance, tone and ‘correct weight’ comfort, enhanced with correctly radiused contoured body. Hand-aged finish with G4V logo.

The Wilkinson WTB intonatable bridge featured on the Vintage V59 G4V is a masterpiece of design, eliminating age-old intonation problems often found in three-saddle, fixed bridge designs.
Pickups:
Pair of Wilkinson Single Coils for traditional tones combined with contemporary power, courtesy of a WVTN pickup at the neck and a WVOB in the bridge position.
Controls:
Single master Volume and Tone controls with three-way pickup selector switch.
