Imaging then, the sonic versatility of a solid bodied electric guitar with a trio of these superior pickups installed and you have the classic Vintage VS63V ReIssued electric guitar, a model that’s also been a favourite of the Vintage team of luthiers for some time.
Now they have taken the whole sonic concept of three installed Wilkinson WOCHB double coil pickups to the next level, with the Vintage ProShop Custom VS63PU0042.
The Vintage team are not only skilled luthiers they are also wiring experts, and have re-wired this beautiful guitar to include coil-tapping facilities in the middle pickup, activated via a push-push switch within the lower tone control.
The pickup permutations and sonic performance are immense, with the middle pickup performing as a normal powerful double coil or single coil, combined with the natural warm sound of the neck unit that’s perfect for driving jazz or blues rhythm and silky smooth lead lines and the cutting edge of the bridge pickup.
Needless to say, the visual concept of the Vintage ProShop VS63PU0042 is simply stunning, with a new Gun Hill Blue cellulose finish over the solid mahogany body and one-piece mahogany neck, which, like the 3 ply scratchplate and all chrome hardware, including pickup covers and the Wilkinson vintage style vibrato bridge system, has received a subtle ageing, applied the way only the Vintage team know how.
Aside from the attention to the fine details of the superb aesthetics, the VS63PU0042 ProShop comes with a Vintage ProShop Set-Up:
- Fret-level, crown and polish.
- Fingerboard dress and comfort treatment.
- Truss rod adjustment and set.
- Action height, radius, intonation and pickup height adjustment.

Body:
Mahogany body provides resonance, tone and ‘correct weight’ comfort. The Vintage VS6 features a unique and ingeniously-designed drop shoulder and offset heel providing improved access to the upper reaches of the fretboard.
